Course Objective:  To provide a good grounding in principles of corporate financial management and raise the awareness of students on current issues in financial management. 

Text book:  “Finance for Executives” by Gabriel Hawanini and Claude Viallet.  Third edition, South western publishing.  ISBN :0-324-27431-9

All chapters in the book will be covered.

Calculator: BA II plus or better required.

Tests and grades:

Two mid term tests with cases   200 points              90% and above “A”

Comprehensive final exam:        100 points              80% and above, below 90%  “B”

Quizzes / Home work                100 points             70% and above, below 80% “C”

                                                                             Below 70%  “F”

Please come to all classes.  This is a graduate class and lot of prior preparation is expected of you.  Class lectures will be laced with a lot of discussions.  Active student participation is expected.  Students will present cases, solve problems using  spread sheets and do extra readings as may be assigned from time to time.  All students will solve and turn-in all cases irrespective of which group is presenting.  Students may be required to work on Excel- spread sheet as part of the tests.  Therefore please leant how to work on excel and do not “free-ride”

Cheating and plagiarism are not tolerated- automatic “F” if a violation occurs.
