Where Collected: MISSISSIPPI. Scott Co.: Tower Prairie, 0.8mi S of I-20 on MS 35, then W on FS 503 1.1 mi., then N 0.6mi on FS 503J to Radio Tower, walk SSW 1/8mi Bienville National Forest; 321953N, 0893043W.
Habitat: 540' elevation. Disturbed prairie w scattered cedar trees, bare mineral soils in places. Schizachyrium scoparium common. Highly calcareous soil inhibits pine growth.
