Topic:  What are three environmental issues facing Lake Baikal and its nearby residents?  How have these issues emerged and developed?  What will Baikal and nearby residents lose if these problems persist or get worse?

What steps have been taken to protect Lake Baikal?  What role might local communities, the government, and markets play in reversing destructive activities and moving Baikal towards recovery?
