Assignment:  Write a two-page reflective essay on the readings using the following as a guideline:

Like McMichael, Friedman sees a “backlash” to globalization, and wonders if the various strains of anti-globalists will develop a coherent ideology that provides an alternative to free-market capitalism.  What might be some elements of this ideology?  How might it come about?  Will people in the Mississippi Delta favor a globalization trajectory or an alternative?  Why?
