Stiglitz Chapters 4-6

Assignment:  Write a two-page reflective essay on the readings using the following as a guideline:

Stiglitz gives us an “insider’s” view of globalization in practice.  He argues the policies followed by international institutions, particularly the IMF, are responsible for many of globalization’s failures.  To what extent is Stiglitz’ view tainted by his position?  Do you believe international institutions or national governments are more responsible for the course globalization has taken, resulting at times in crises such as occurred in Asia and Russia?  What policies might be prudent for a country to adopt to avoid such problems?
