Instructions:  Prepare a two page essay on the topic identified below.  Be sure to develop an explanation or argument in your essay.  See the link from the course home page for tips on writing an effective essay.

Topic:  Near the beginning of the video “On The Edge: A Wake-Up Call,” one of the panelists notes that we may be headed towards trouble, because we take so much from nature and give so little back.  Given this analysis, what must we sustain in order to build a sustainable society?  Use examples from the video to illustrate how we might increase sustainability, given the many problems we face.
