The
Delta Heritage Tour for
International
Students took place on September 4, 2004.
The students explored the land where the blues began, the “most Southern Place
on Earth.” While on the bus, there was talk about the Blues, the River,
plantations, civil rights, and “going’ to Chicago.” Locations discussed included
Dockery Farms, The Real Crossroads, Lil' Red School House in Drew (A Rosenwald
School), Parchman Prison, Tutwiler, Shackup Inn, Ground Zero in Clarksdale,
Friars Point Museum and The River.
